Goodbye, Izzy...
Sad news. Izzy, the nursing home cat that my mom and I gave to my aunt, had to be put down today. She'd been taken to the vet for an ordinary checkup, and the vet told us that she had diabetes. Her blood sugar was incredibly high and she would've had to take 2 shots of insulin a day. My aunt is in her late 80s and found herself unable to give the medication to her. She was the one who made the call. My mom and I went along with my aunt to say goodbye to her, but I didn't want to be there when the moment came, so my godmother came to take me back home. She and I talked about Izzy and how she'd been a good companion for my aunt, and how no one lives forever. Before I go on, I want to talk about Izzy and her origins. Her real name was Isabella. I don't know how old she is exactly, but my guess is that she's about the same age as my Kiki Mau (b. 2009), give or take a year. So...about Eclipse...
It sucks. I mean, it really sucks. It's so cluttered and complicated. It's a total eyesore. It's been a month since Eclipse was launched, and I still cannot get used to it. No more categories, the search is a jumbled mess, and the front page looks like it got hit by a hurricane and a twister at the same time. I also cannot view my journals from my account page. Nothing is orderly or making any sense anymore. dA was one of my favorite places I could go to, especially during the VoronaCirus pandemic (which may or may not be going away soon), but now it's a literal mess. Nothing was wrong with the previous site. Nothing. Before the official launch, the site had a switch that you could click on in order to flip between the old site and Eclipse. Why did they get rid of that? Not everyone was onboard with the clusterf**k that Eclipse has become; if that switch had been kept around, maybe things would be a lot better.
